CBD + HEMP Pop-Up, Oh What A Night…
As part of our mission to educate and elevate consumers on all things Cannabis (with an emphasis on Hemp), we’ve aligned with Hiptique in Santa Monica and we launched our very first Pop-Up on Friday, Nov. 30th. We celebrated with a night of shopping, drinking CBD-infused coffee from Mary Joe, Ziobaffa Wines, and CBD Living Water, and enjoying CBD-infused chocolates from our favorite chocolatier, Calivolve. The most exciting part of the night was joining in on the conversation around CBD, with Lawrence Hudson, Dr. Kerklaan and Summer Brock of The Good Patch answering questions from, “What is CBD?” to, “What consumers should be aware of when buying CBD.” The conversation was moderated by our very own Creative/Content Director Megan Villa.
The goal of the Pop-Up is to create a beautiful space for consumers to discover the range of products cannabis has to offer, from beauty to wellness. We created a carefully curated assortment of brands, “weeding through” (pun intended) the many new emerging brands to bring forth companies that are focused on quality, responsibly sourced, authentic CBD and Hemp products. Consumers can also touch and test the products, and ask trained staff questions (as not everyone wants to shop in a dispensary). With the confusion surrounding Cannabis, we thought that it was important to create that first-hand experience with consumers that you can’t get online.
We delayed the initial launch of the Pop-Up after the damaging fires in Malibu. Christine Berardi, owner of Hiptique Santa Monica / Malibu, has been focusing her efforts on fundraising for the many displaced families that lost everything there. While Malibu rebuilds their community, we focused on the Santa Monica launch instead. The decor has a “touch of hemp,” from our customized wallpaper from Rachael Ryan Lacy, to the natural plant-dyed hemp sail on a vintage sailboat Christine purchased years ago.
We are excited to be working with Hiptique Stores because they are not only beautiful lifestyle stores but already have a loyal connection and trust with their customers, which is the ideal environment to talk about Cannabis. Equally exciting to the assortment are the retail staff who spent a day of training. We were graced by founder, Hemp farmer, and modern day badass Christie Tarleton from Yuyo Botanics, who flew in just for the in-store training. During training, the staff were enthusiastic to taste, test, ask, and learn about the many benefits Cannabis has to offer. Training included basic definitions, responsible sourcing, commonly asked questions, clearing up any misunderstandings, and understanding product features and benefits
The Pop-Up is going to be up through the New Year so please be sure to visit the space if you’re in the Los Angeles area!
